Cameroonian domestic gas for households
On April 9, 2018, SNH commissioned a storage and loading depot for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers in Bipaga-1, 28 km north of the town of Kribi, in the district of Lokoundjé. The construction of this depot is a component of the natural gas resources development project for the Sanaga-Sud field, operated by Perenco.
The depot facilities mainly consist of two LPG storage spheres with a capacity of 500 tonnes (1098 m3) each, protected by cylindrical concrete sarcophagi. They are supplied by the Bipaga gas processing center. Three pumps, two gas compressors, two tank truck loading stations as well as fire safety equipment complete this system.
The LPG produced is delivered to marketers to supply the national market. The deposit makes it possible in particular to reduce the dependence of the Cameroonian market on imports and subsidies allocated by the State to this product.
