Natural gas supply to Keda coming down the pipeThe first gas to the tile factory by SNH was made on 07 June
Nathalie Moudiki, acting on behalf of the Executive General Manager, officially commissioned the gas pipeline allowing gas to flow into the factory.
This project, which started with engineering activities in January 2023, aims to provide natural gas to the Keda ceramics factory in Kribi, whose initial daily production capacity is estimated at 50 000 square metres of tiles.
The gas consumption of the factory, constructed by Keda Cameroon Ceramics LTD, is projected to be between 3.5 and 6.5 million cubic feet per day, equating to a prospective 36 billion cubic feet over 20 years. SNH has constructed a 5.27 km pipeline, which stems from the Bipaga Gas Processing Centre, built by the corporation and its partner Perenco, who manages the Centre’s operations. The pipeline, operated by SNH, incurred a cost of approximately 7.2 billion CFAF.
Prior to the Keda facility’s first gas, an information session was held on the same day for the elite of the Ocean Division on SNH’s projects in the area. Key figures including the traditional and administrative authorities of the Ocean Division, the Managing Directors of Perenco and Keda, and the Minister of Forests and Wildlife, in his capacity as Chairman of the Association for the Development of the Ocean Division, attended the event.
