Biodiversity preservation, a priority for SNH
In fulfilling its missions, SNH ensures strict compliance with the legal provisions governing environmental protection. Therefore, all hydrocarbon exploration and production activities are subject to the completion of a prior environmental and social impact assessment, which presents in particular the incidence of such activities on the environment and mitigation measures envisaged to preserve the ecosystem balance. The company also implements a National Oil Spill Contingency Plan (NOSCP) through the Pipeline Steering and Monitoring Committee (CPSP). SNH’s commitment is also reflected in its involvement in international initiatives aimed at preserving ecosystems, such as the Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership (GGFR), the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC) and the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues (IPIECA).
